Anti-corrosion coating of Hiwin linear guideways

In order to protect linear guideways from corrosion, it is possible to cover the guideways with different platings: thin dense chrome plating ARMOLOY TDC, reinforced chrome plating, nickel plating, RAYDENT plating and bonderizing.


Oxidized coating (black oxide)

Black oxide (chemical oxidizing) allows to get black coating that provides moisture repellent corrosion protection. Oxidation allows storing guideways for a long time without being afraid of accidental occurrence of corrosion. Oxidation does not change size of rail and carriage. 

• Reaction type: chemical conversion.

• Film thickness: 1-2 micron.

• Particular qualities: the color black, resistance to corrosion, easy treatment.

 

Bonderizing

Bonderization is a process of specific film creation at the metal surface that protects metal from corrosion. A protective film is produced from insoluble salts -  manganic phosphate, ferric phosphate or zinc phosphate.

• Reaction type: chemical conversion.

• Particular qualities: the color smoky-gray, resistance to corrosion, easy treatment.

 

Reinforced chrome plating

Galvanic chrome plating features high wear resistance, hardness, strength, chemical and thermal stability. 

• Reaction type: electro-chemical.

• Film thickness: 10-500 micron.

• Particular qualities: hardness 800-100 Hv,  the color silver, resistance to rust and corrosion.

 

Nickel plating
Nickel plating

Nickel plating is used for nickel coating of any configuration components. Chemically-reduced nickel has high corrosive resistance, hardness and wear-resistance.

• Reaction type: chemical.

• Film thickness: 2.5-250 micron.

• Particular qualities: hardness 300-500 Hv, the color silver-yellow, resistance to corrosion.

 

Armoloy TDC (thin dense chrome plating)

Armoloy TDC (thin dense chrome plating)

Armoloy TDC is thin-dense hard chrome plating with micronodular texture of surface. It especially fits usage in environment with low dust characteristics. 

• Reaction type: electro-chemical.

• Film thickness: 2.5-5 micron.

• Particular qualities: hardness 1360-1400 Hv, the color silver, resistance to corrosion, reduced friction, increased wear-resistance.

 

Raydent plating
Raydent plating

Raydent plating is a special technology of surface treatment used in order to create alloy metal surface by means of galvanization. Usage of electrochemical reaction at temperatures below 0° С is different from ordinary chemical reactions. Chrome ceramic particles with size of 1 micron or smaller size are numerously precipitated. The part of its plating constitutes an alloy as diffusion layer (about 1 micron) in metallic material volume does. RAYDENT plating and basic metal are entirely integrated, i.e. it could not be decomposed. Alloy metal surface creates continuous barrier stainless resistant film with outer ceramic oxide layer (about 1 micron).        

• Reaction type: electro-chemical.

• Film thickness: 1-3 micron.

• Particular qualities: the color black, timeproof stainless protection (up to 10 years), it could be used in lithography.
